The Arrupe Jesuit University Center for Ethics in Society is founded on the African notion that “to be human is to be ethical.” Human beings are endowed by numerous intelligences, capabilities, abnormalities and abilities. However, one underlying and essential characteristic of being human is to be ethical, despite the magnitude or the apparent  outweighing of this notion by other evils, instrumental and techno-science capabilities.
